Fire Safety Certificate (also known as the Fire certificate).
A Fire Safety Certificate ensures that particular materials or structures conform to the fire safety standards of Russia.
Duration and types of document
Fire Safety Certificate is issued for delivery, contract, 1 year, 3 years, 5 years;
Single Shipment Certificates
(or The Consignment Fire Safety Certificate) is a trade document valid for one consignment only (i.e. for a certain quantity and type of product). A proof (contract or invoice) of customer/importer in Russia is needed in order for a certificate to be issued.
Certificate for Serial Production
(or Serial Production Fire Safety Certificate) is a document valid for 1 till 5 years depending on the nature of the products.
The cost and time
The cost and time of documents shall be determined individually in each case. Turnaround time is from 1 week till 6 months. It also depends of the fact В if the certification is done with examination of industrial area and tests of samples or not.
Legislation
Fire safety is regulated in Russia by the Federal Law On Fire Safety 69-FZ and since July 7, 2008 by the Law 123-FZ Technical Regulation on Fire Safety Requirements. The list of groups of products subject to mandatory certification of fire safety:
- Fire detection, protection and extinguishing equipment and systems
- Flammable building materials and structures (wallpaper, floor tiles, carpets, cable ducts, doors, etc.)
- Electrical products that are cables, fridges, etc.
- Heat producing products (gas ovens, chargrills, heat generators, etc.)
